Trapani: main port in Western Sicily
The port of Trapani is in the center of the Mediterranean Sea: therefore it is the ideal stopover for both commercial and tourist routes.
It’s classified as commercial port of national relevance.
Port of Trapani has always been considered as one of the safest ports in southern Italy. Docks and breakwater barriers defend an extensive natural basin with a water surface of about 900,000 square meters.
The port includes the commercial area, a fishing port and cruise and yacht piers.
The turistic/passengers area is facing the historical center of Trapani with its Arab style narrow cobbled streets and many churches.
The port opens to the south and is bounded to the west by the extension of Colombaia (breakwater dam) and to the east by a dam breakwater reported from West end headlight No. 3140.3.
